Sunshine, Lolipops & Rainbows...

We just got this sunny, bright award from our long-legged Dane pal, Darwin, so before our mommy forgets who gave it to us (like usual) we made her post it. Post haste!! All we have to do is post it and pass it on. We're going to acknowledge some of our friends here right now, but open this up to all our special friends since we truly do love ya' all. So, feel free to claim this award, post it on your sidebar and make a list of buddies who have put their stamp on your hearts! We actually somehow missed our 1st bloggiversary on Feb 2nd but wanted to make sure that the dogs & their hoomans that inspired us know how much we appreciate them.

The very first poochie we met on line (around April 2008) was Bogart ~ that irresistible handsome devil! It was quite a time before we actually got our own blog but Bogie was our inspiration. Mommy talked about us on her blog, but it just wasn't the same as having our own special identity & voice. I (BabyRD) remember being amazed at all the great photos of Bogart's everyday exploits and how his family went to all the best dog-friendly spots in Portland to eat. Thanks buddy!! We love ya!

In the beginning we stuck mainly to Airedale sites so met these wonderful Dales (& Welshie!): Noah and his sisters ~ Maggie & Mitch ~ Ruby ~ Molly & Taffy (& now Monty too). It has been such a terrific trip getting to see how our mates in Australia, England and New England behave and what their lives are like. Of course we lurked in the background for awhile before we found our voice, and learned from these our predecessors.

The names Butchy & Snickers and Agatha & Archie attracted our attention right off the bat too. Catchy names and even catchier blogs! Mommy fell in love with these adorable WFT's and followed them long before our dogblog was started. If Mommy hadn't found Hootie to adopt in June 2008 she would have gotten a WFT to keep us company because of these pooches.

Well, from there we found out there are all kinds of wonderful breeds of dogs that are very easy to fall in love with. We met Chase the Puggle and were amused by his antics. He sent Hootie the very first gift he(we) ever received in the mail for his birthday last year. Yummy dog biscuits that we only ate for special occasions! Thank you for your thoughtfulness Chase. Then we met Honey who has since gone to the Rainbow Bridge. She was just a beautiful Golden girl who won our hearts. Her hoomans now are the family of Sierra Rose another swell Golden. Asta, the fabulous NYC dwelling WFT was perhaps our next pal. Her Baabaa Waawaa accent always makes our mommy laugh. And, her mama is so sweet and a brilliant artist (and
photo-shopper!!). Asta has helped us with her photo magic more than once and she is always so gracious. Martha and Bailey are Bassets that we met after Asta's Spring Fling last year. I,BabyRD, had an exciting evening with the dashing Westie, Hamish, at the Fling and have had to visit Scotland off & on ever since! Our dear friend Hamish has since gone to the Rainbow Bridge, but his girl,Gail, promises to keep in touch with us AND she has a new babypup, Bertie, coming to her home soon!! Yippee!! We made friends with Pedro a Chi-Waa-Waa from back East who collects rocks---Had to collect rocks for him on our way back home to farrr N.Idaho. Hootie had always thought Chi's were related to rodents and meant to be "chased & ett" so Pedro helped to change his mind. THen we had the most exciting time when we got to actually meet one of our fellow DWbloggers, Dr.Dre, a fiesty little Chi-Waa-Waa in person. Turns out we live in close proximity to each other up north and we llllllluuuurve Dre!! He is so funny and fun to romp with. Not at all like a rodent!! His hoomans are terrific too. We always LOL when we read his blog. Another blog that generally cracks us all up is the hilarious Life With Dogs. We wonder how they keep up with all those followers!

Well dear ones, there are so many other wonderful DWBers that we'd have to go on forever, so we will just stop here. We suggest you just go visit the DWB blogsite and visit some new blogs. So many good pooches and hoomans out there.

Have a great week ahead. Today is Palm Sunday and Mommy tells us that Easter is the very most important day of the year, so Easter week should be very special we think.

Smooches from pooches,

BabyRocketDog & Hootie

ps-There are several dear pooches that need our PawPower right now. Please pop on over to Asta's blog to read her 27thMarch post with names and links. X-BRD

Two Views~~~Same Mess & An Award!

Cassie here, Baby Rocket Dog & Hootie's human mommy. I'm taking over the post for a brief explanation of these pictures. We are trying to get some things ready for the trip to our cabin up north & I have them piled on the sofa in our extra bedroom. I had to go to the post office this afternoon and left BRD & Hootie home alone. An hour later I came home to THIS! Splenda, my favorite St. Dalfour's teabags, wrapping paper and even my electric piano headphones scattered all over the living room floor. These were all things I had in my pile to go up north. Many of the Splenda packets were broken open and several tea bags chewed up in their foil packaging. Both criminals got put in the lock-up for a short time. Neither appear remorseful. I guess I need to be less trusting of the little villains. Thanks for letting me vent.

Now, back to us! This award came to us from our new, Scottish buddies, the Dughallmor Beagles. Thanks so much for thinking of us. "Comprovado! Seu blog tem nectar" is Portuguese for "Proven! This (it's) blog has nectar." How sweet! We would like to pass this on to these doglettes: Scruffy, Stanley and Lacie ~ the holy terriers from S,S & L's Place, an Arizona gal Ruby Red Dog of A Red Dog in the Red Rocks, Charlie from Cotton Candy Clouds, Miley & Mariah of the High Kountry Airedales Pack, and Pedro the rock hound of Vote For Pedro. Congrats buddies! Your blogs have nectar!!

Some Cool Awards To Pass On

Checkers the Peek-a-Poo has given us two really cool awards and we are honored. They are the Proximidade Award and the Neno's Award. Thank you so much for thinking of us when you are in such poor health Checkers. You are a real sweetie and so selfless. If our friends here haven't gone over to Checker's blog, please give it a peek(a-poo!!). Thanks Checkers, we posted a thank you on the sidebar for you! Check it out.

Here are the write-ups on these awards:

This blog invests and believes in the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement! Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this clever-written text into the body of their award. (All this prize requires is to pass it on!)

Neno's Award: ~As a dedication for those who love blogging activity and love to encourage friendships through blogging.

~To seek the reason why we all love blogging.

~Put the award in one post as soon as you receive it.

~Don’t forget to mention the person who gives you the award.

~Answer the Award’s question by writing the reason why you love blogging.

~Tag and distribute the Award to as many people as you like.

~ Remember to notify the awardees and put their links in your post.

Hootie: Okey dokey. The reason I love blogging is that it keeps me off the streets. No, not really, cuz I was never really on the streets. Well, once, but that's for another post. Back on subject. I love blogging because it lets me interact with others from other walks of life. Whether getting to take a virtual tour through a park or museum in Europe or sharing a hot dog with a new friend at a sidewalk cafe' in Portland, it makes me feel like I'm a part of something bigger than myself. Yes pups, I am a deep, deep doggy!!

Baby Rocket Dog: Oh my, Hootie is a real little philosopher! My turn. I love blogging because it lets me express my thoughts and share them with others. Not that they are all that deep, but it's just a lot of fun.

We're going to try to find some doglettes that haven't yet received these awards. SO, here are our awardees: Amy, Betty and Hersey from Unglazed, Opy the Original Gruff Puppy, Marvin The Hollow Hound, Hamish the Westie, Hamish (the Airepup!),Tinkerbell,Oscar and Tucker at You Had Me At Arf!, Noah and the girls from Noah's Bark, Sally from across the pond, the famous (they have over 500 followers!!)Sola, Nigel and Fudgepants at Life With Dogs, the 4 sweeties at Rocky Creek Scotties , and lastly Molly and Taffy our British doppelgangers. Congratulations to you all! Don't forget to visit everyone's blog.

Toodles for now,

Life Is Grand and Pink Roses...

Our sweet little buddy, Vodka, gave us these 2 awards a few weeks ago and our Mommy failed to post them or pass them on. So, without further delay, here are our new awards. Ta Da...

These beautiful pink roses were the first award and they "are given to friends, to bring a sweet and fruitful day. Those who receive these roses as a gift need to pass them on to 10 friends to show them you care. And of course, for those who received the roses, that is to show that you'll never be forgotten."

Our other award given to us by Vodka is the Life Is Grand Award. For this one, we have to list 5 reasons that life is grand, acknowledge the giver by linking to their blog, then pass it on to 5 others.

Well friends, life is grand for many reasons, not the least of them being:

#1 - We are dogs! What could be better?

#2 - We have lots of stuffies to play with. Two toy bins full!

#3 - Our Mommy gives us wonderful bones to chew on.

#4 - We get to run and play with other dogs at the dog park.

#5 - We are LOVED!! Our hooman Mommy & Daddy give us kisses all the time.

THANK YOU VODKA!! We sure appreciate you passing these awards on to us.

NOW, Hootie is known as a little rebel in these parts, so he has decided to combine the 2 awards and give them both to 7 pooches instead of 5 or 10.

We would like to pass the Pink Roses & the Life Is Grand Award on to all the following sweeties: A new kid on the block, Penny the Westie, Miro and Alanis from The Farmhouse, Scruff of The Adventures of Scruff The Wonderdog, Petey of Petey's Playhouse, Miss Ruby from The Rubydale Times, Digsby from Awfully Big Digsby MacFeegle, and last, but not least, Bentley from Houston,Texas. We know these awards have been going around, so we hope we haven't chosen someone who already has gotten them. We sure enjoy reading everyone's blog so hope that eventually all the dogs with blogs will get these awards. Congrats to all.

Please click on the different pups names above to go visit their blogs. They are swell canines!!

Lots of AireSmooches and WelshieHugs,

Baby Rocket Dog and Hootie

Honest Scrap Award & Tonight Is Another Pup Class

We got our first award today, the Honest Scrap, from our new friend, Scratchy Paws. We are really excited to get this, because now somedoggy, no names mentioned, now has to be truthful and not such a fibber!! Yes, Youootie know whootie you are!! Our own Mommy didn't pass it on to us when she had it, so we thank Scratchy Paws for recognizing the great potential we possess. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Here are the instructions: "When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to said person so everyone knows he or she is real. Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are because you don’t have 7 friends. Show the 7 random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with “Honest Scrap" weblog. Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. List at least ten honest things about yourself. Then, pass it on!"

Since there are 2 of us (one lesser than the other) we'll split up the chore, er I mean honor. Ladies first, ladies first!!

#1- Okay, I am really a scaredy cat when it comes to loud noises. I hate anything that clangs, chugs or rattles. When I was younger while walking down the sidewalk passing vehicles would make me cower. I am not proud of this.

#2- I hate having my hairs brushed. I will chew on the brush handle and act up most every time that nasty comb comes out. I am thankful the hoomans don't make me get stripped (like poor Kimi).

#3- I have deliberately pushed Hootie off of the big pillow. He always deserves it, but I act innocent like it is an accident.he he.

#4- I sneak up on the couch at night when everyone is sleeping. I jump down before they can catch me.

#5- I thought I was a Labrador Retriever when I was younger. My best buddy then was a sweet yellow Lab named Sophie and we'd always play together. The first time I saw an Airedale I was in shock...I thought what kind of strange, hyper dog is this! That is before we adopted Hootie.

That's it for me. Airekisses, BabyRocketDog

Oh goody, it's my turn! I, Hootie, will be very truthful to all our bloggy buds!

#1- I used to eat poop. Yes, and I still miss it. I am now a member of PEA (Poop Eaters Anonymous.) and am trying to keep my nose clean. Literally. I miss it's fragrant aroma. They have me sequestered in the city now, so all that good moose, deer and turkey poop is just a far off dream. Oh this is too hard. Must stop.

#2- I can't catch a ball and have NO desire to try. I would rather chew on it. There, I said it.

#3- I love Puppy Class. Next week is my last one and I wish it would go on and on. I could be a professional student!

#4- I think I am much larger than I really am. I'm 22#, but feel like I am abouCheck Spellingt 75#. I love big dogs. I would like to eat little dogs, like chee-wa-was. They run like little rodents and I was born to give chase to rodents!!

#5- I still pee on the hoomans floor regularly. They aren't always picking up my vibes telling them to let me outside, so I just let loose. I mean, what are tile floors for anyway? I'm thinking they have a purpose and that is to make for easy clean up, am I right?? Momma tells Daddy that I only do it when he gets home, so he takes the fall. I have it timed perfectly!

That is enough truth for now. Wow, I feel like I've been to see the doggy shrink. Such wonderful, freeing therapy! (Thaireapy for BRD.)

Now here are our picks for 7 new awardees (if these are duplicates, please forgive us):

1- OOOpppps! It's time to go to Puppy Class. We'll finish this when we get home.

Smooches from pooches, BRD & Hootie

Okay,I'm back & I gotta tell you I was a star. Did a perfect "roll over" and also "stay" for over 30 seconds. I was amazing, even if I do have to say so myself. Now on with the awards! Our computer just went down & I lost most of my award info. Kitty krap!! I'm gonna try to resurrect who I sent notes to. If I don't have you down here, please drop me a line. Thanks. XXX-Hootie the Wonderdog

#1- Princess Snowball is a lovely little lady who likes to play dress up.

#2- Moco is a terrier who lives with spaniels and is so adorable!

#3- A handsome Airedale fellow Kimi who is named after a race car driver! His mommy is an ace groomer!

#4- Dewey Dewster is a sweetie who lives with a Lakie and and another WFT. Lots of terrier fun!

#5-Molly a Jack Russell Terrier who is comfortable sleeping with cats and eyeballing turkeys from her house.

#6- Digsby Mac Feegle is still a pup, but he shows great potential. Go visit & he'll show you where to check for scary monsters!

#7- Lucia, yes, another airegal, but what do you expect?! We're terriers!

#8- Honey a gorgeous Goldengirl is fond of wearing wigs! She really doesn't need them though, cuz she's beautiful au natural!

Now we hope that you all go visit these fabulous pups blogs...and don't forget to come back here and see what mischief we're up to!!

Lots of love and kisses from BabyRocketDog & Hottie, oops, Hootie ;<)
