Throwback Thursday ~ Merry Christmas!

This is us for Hootie's first Christmas with the family.  Look how sweet he once was is.  Santa wasn't sure what to do with such a wiggly, little brat pooch!  If we don 't get back here before the new year, 2015, we want to wish our friends a very Happy Chanukah and Merry Christmas, too!!  Sending out lots of love and best wishes to all, especially our buddies who are struggling with health problems.  We love you all!

Throwback Thursday ... on Friday....oops

Both of these photos were taken in 2007.  The top one is me (BRD) watching Chuck the Cat eat.  The second pic is my mommy trying to get me to wear my puppy class graduation mortarboard.  I have NEVER liked wearing hats.  That's Hootie's bag!  I prefer my natural beauty to shine through. Bol.
Hope all my friends are staying warm.  It's verrrrrry cold here in North Idaho.

Another Throwback Thursday....

This is Chuck the cat and me, Baby Rocket Dog.  The first 2 years at our log cabin we had no tile on the floors, just sub-floor.  Those were the good old days Roughin' it like the pioneers.  Chuck usually put up with me, but drew the line when I'd try to play with his tail. Bol. This was before Hootie came on the scene.  By then Chuck was just a memory.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend ahead.  Lots of blessings and

Throwback Thursday...

Okay, so I'm a day late. Who is keeping track of days now anyway?  Both of our folks are retired!  Blame them.

Here I am getting kennel trained as a pup.  Mommy says I was very quick to learn and actually took to it much quicker than my little brother, Hootie.  Hootie wasn't completely potty trained until he was, like, 6 months old!!  Boys are slower than we girls are, for sure.

Baby Rocket Dog on Throwback Thursday...

Here I am in November 2007. It was my first and only time that I was in heat.  I had to wear those silly boys undies and got to change them 5 times a day.  Mommy tried to make me feel better by saying said I was stylish. Bol.  Mom is having too much fun digging up these old photos, at my expense.  I vote for more pics of Hootie, but then, the 2nd child never has as many photos taken of him.

Hope that all my friends are having a great week.

Throwback Thursday

These are all pics of me, Baby Rocket Dog, as a pup.  Mommy and Daddy loved to hold me on their laps back then.  Now I only half fit on a lap, but I still do it!  The Persian in the bottom photo was Chuck the Cat.  I loved his fuffy tail, but he didn't like me trying to play with it.  Hope you all are having a great week!

Welcome Cousin!

This is our new little girl cousin, Toppi.
We are SOOooooo excited that she will be going
to live with our mama's cousins Sheila and Mike in Texas.

Here is a letter we got from her today (it's her first!):

Hi cousins. I will be flying into Houston Friday night to join my new family. I
heard you live way up north but I was born in Montana. I am going to become a Texan. I'm
special cause I am a "toy" golden retriever.

Pretty cool, huh? We think she is adorable and can hardly wait to meet her. Mommy says we'll get to meet cousin
Sheila and Mike and both their furkids, Lilly and Toppi someday. She is always promising us things such as this
but rarely comes through. Here's hoping!

Better sign off now.

Bonner: The Rainbow Bridge is a Better Place

BONNER V. ~ July 19th,2001 - May 2, 2014
(This water color is by artist D.J.Rogers, a California artist. We found it online.)

Our good friend and next door neighbor, Bonner, had inoperable cancer in his jaw and has been hanging on to life for several months now, keeping comfortable. The poor fellow's face had a grapefruit sized tumor, but he didn't let it affect his cheerful personality.  He always wagged his tail and went for walks with his mama and daddy each day, greeting us with joy.  Last Friday he no longer had that sparkle in his eyes that said he wanted to carry on.  His mommy fixed him his favorite meal, scrambled eggs & cat food for breakfast.  The 2 grandsons came over to have one last marshmallow roast with him at the fire-pit, which was his favorite activity with the boys. Sharing roasted marshmallows...most pleasurable.  He had a wonderful morning doing things that he loved, with the people he loved.  In the early afternoon his doctor came to his home and Bonner, beautiful, big, yellow Labrador went to the Rainbow Bridge.  We are all sad, but know that we will see him again some day, and he will be running and jumping and smiling his big Lab smile at the reunion.

Run free buddy.  You were a good boy.

Love,
Baby Rocket Dog & Hootie
and family

ps-Today is Hootie's 6th birthday so we're going for a ride in the car with our peeps. This should cheer us up.

Run Free Noah, We'll See You Some Day...

Noah, one of our dear friends from Down Under, went to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday (04/23/2014). He was 13.5 years old and went for daily walks, right up to the end. We don't have words to say how sad we are. We send our love to D & B, his peeps, and his 3 sisters Willow, Tess and Lucy.  He will be missed by all his buddies in the blogging world very much.

Rest In Peace, dear buddy. We will meet again.

Easter Day in Montana

Here we are at the motel in Kalispell, Montana.
Our peeps brought our covers for the extra bed, so we'd be comfortable.

This is Hootie with our friend TICA.

Mom with her good friend Ilse.

I am "borrowing" TICA's stuffie here.

This was our happy Easter Day.  We hope all our friends had a wonderful Resurrection Sunday too!

More From The Naughty Terrier Club...

This top photo was just taken Tuesday, after Hootie's escapade.
The bottom one is from November 2011...One of Mommy's favorites.
She calls it her Hootie-Rug. BOL.

The following is a post my brother, Hootie, made on The Naughty Terrier Club wall on Tuesday, April 15th :

Here I am, Hootie, relaxing under the watchful eye of my Welshie wife, Sally Ann. I was a VERY naughty terrier this afternoon. Went for a ride in the car with my mommy and when we got home she made the mistake of letting me out of the car without my leash. Well, BabyRocketDog and I both made a run for it. Baby was lured into the car with a treat. Not ME baby! I proceeded down the drive and started chasing a bunch of chickens and a rooster that run loose near a neighbor's house. The hens high tailed it away, fast. I am an amazing runner, so the chase was on. I decided the big rooster was game, so closed in on him. We ran through the horse coral, around trees in the woods, through a yard...all the time my old mommy running behind me screaming my name like a banshee. She almost caught me once, falling down. Bwahahaha. Finally I caught the rooster and clamped on to his tail feathers. He screeched and mom grabbed me. The rooster ran away, minus his tail feathers. I was in mommy's arms, all out of breath, but so proud. She kept telling me what a bad boy I was. Sheesh. She also went to the neighbor and was told the rooster was fine, his tail will grow back. So I say, "No harm, No foul/fowl." BOL.

So friends, that shows you what a naughty boy that brother of mine is.  Mommy told me that even though I initially ran off that I was a good girl.  SO, wouldn't you think that because I am so good that I would be rewarded, say, with a party, or parade, or at least a bowl of treats?? Nooooo.  Instead, on Wednesday, the folks took me for a ride (without Hootie) to see Dr. Hall, our veterinarian.  Now don't get me wrong, I love Doc Hall, but it seems whenever I go to see him alone he cuts something off of me.  True to form, he cut a melanoma off my back...The folks didn't even make the appointment for me to get that little bump cut off...It was because I have been limping off & on this past week.  Anywho, looks like I have osteo-arthritis.  Doc gave me some pills to test out.  Mommy said she wants to get me some glucosimine to try too.  They always say I'm a hypochondriac because I like to take pills...hmmmmm.   Okay, here's a pic of my most recent surgery, as I knew you are just dieing to see it!

Daddy has been giving me lots of special care and love, so it was worth it.

Hope you all have a great Passover/Easter holiday week.

Farrr North Idaho Reporting

This Moose was visiting us in March.

Both of us wanted to go outside to visit with her, but the peeps wouldn't allow it.
SOooo, since we weren't allowed to "visit" with her, our place is still called:
Bwahahaha.

News Flash:   Well, we thought Mrs. Moose was getting old really fast, but found out the white on her back is from something else.  Something really creepy.  Yup.  There was an article in the local paper about this and the accompanying photo looked a LOT like our moose.   Apparently there are some parasites called moose ticks and they can even KILL a moose.  We think that is probably why Mrs. Moose didn't have any calves with her this Spring.  The young calves can have over 50% of their blood drained by those vampire ticks and it's just too much for their young bodies. How sad.  The Billings, Montana Gazette had this story just yesterday & it tells more about the horrible moose tick, just click. Enough about that. Yuk.

Hootie and I, Baby Rocket Dog, have been enjoying our Winter and now Spring here in Farrr North Idaho.  Mommy and Daddy are really busy unpacking boxes and trying to de-clutter the cabin.  Good luck there folks...what a mess.  Can you spell hoarders?!   Bol.  Mom says it might take a good 6 months before things look "normal".

Sorry we haven't been posting lately.  Google kind of had us confused.  We'll try to get our secretary to be better at keeping us up to date here.  So, time for us to sign off for now.  Hope you are all well and that 2014 is treating you peachy!
