Just Me, Hootie!!

Well, today it is just me with Mommy and Dad. Mommy got up early and drove Baby Rocket Dog to see Dr. Hall, our vet. She's having some sort of surgery on her bottom canine tooth. hmmm, doesn't sound like fun to me, but she was all happy and wiggly when she ran out to the car. Last report is that they put her in some foreign kennel and she was not happy about that.
Since I've taken over the blog for today thought you might enjoy a few photos of MOI in my winter scarf. The folks are taking me for a trip to the Bread Basket Bakery where they get yummy stuff. Yup, I'm one lucky dog today. Peace and quiet AND pastry!!

We have been practicing sleeping like little angels so that Santa will leave us something good. Our stocking is very big so maybe a cow leg bone??

You'll Never Guess Where We Are!! Chanukah. AND Post 1-0-0. Yippee!!

The above photo is us in the front lobby of our hotel. Take a good look at the sign below. It says PETS STAY COMFORTABLE. This is where we are staying right now. The Red Lion Inn in Bellevue, Washington. Our mommy is very happy that there is such a nice hotel that welcomes us with open arms. She thinks the bed & pillows are extra comfy too. Thanks Red Lion.

This is Hootie telling Daddy that it's time to wake up. We have a long day ahead of us.

Here I am checking out Mom's purse. See the little blue bone to the right---that's for picking up poo when we go out for a walk. Cute, huh?
Here we are in our kennels. Not bad, 'cuz we have nice pillows in them and they are comfortable.
This is the thermometer that will go to the winning pooch. We have one just like it and think it's very cool because it has the temperature measured in degrees Fahrenheit AND in dogs!! Our folks purchased them at a wonderful store in Polson, Montana called Three Dog Down. Not many places have the consideration to measure the weather in dogs like they do. BOL. (This place has terrific down items...check it out!)

We couldn't tell you this before, but yesterday we picked Daddy up at the airport in Spokane and from there we drove across Washington State to Seattle!! Up until we picked Dad up we got to sit in the car seats, but after we had to stay in our kennels. It was a long trip (about 9 hours in all) but well worth it. We got to see our hooman sissy, Jessica and her husband, David! We were a birthday surprise for Jessica this morning. She had NO idea when her hubby took her out to breakfast at JoeBar that we would be there waiting for her. (Guess who forgot to bring her camera...oh mother.) Tonight the folks are going over to a big party for Jessica with the theme "Back In Black". Something to do with electricity, AC/DC. We get to stay at the hotel in our kennels. Oh goody.
Update: This pic is of Jessica changing the music at her party. She wears feathers in her hair!!

Now, for those of you of the Jewish faith we want to wish you a very happy 1st day of Chanukah. Last night was the first night to light a candle on the menorah, the 25th of Kislev on the Jewish calendar. It's a real festival of light!!

AND last but not least, this is our 100th post. When we get back to farrr North Idaho we will draw the winners of the 1-0-0 Give Away. You still have a chance to win if you leave a comment after this post. The polls don't close 'til Tuesday morning.

To wrap this all up, we want to wish our hooman sister, Jessica, a very Happy 29th Birthday! Mommy will take pics tonight and post them on her blog soon.

We love all you good buddies.

Getting Our Hairs Cut and This Is Post #99!!

Okey dokey, today Hootie and I are getting our hairs cut by our favorite groomer, Jody, at the Pend Oreille Vet Clinic. (That's here picture here!!) Mommy is hoping that she won't need to have any grooming done while in Phoenix, as she has such bad experiences there. Anywhooo, Jody is gonna cut our "skirts" a bit shorter to hopefully last us a while longer. (Isn't it funny that Hootie has a skirt??hehe.) We'll still go to the Smelly Dog for our bathes while in Arizona, 'cuz those guys are super nice too. Mom took a few "before" pics of our shagginess last night but failed to xfer them to her computer...so, when she gets the "after" shots taken we'll post all for our post #1-0-0. THen, we'll write up the names to enter in our 1-0-0 Post Give Away and post 101 will announce the winners!! Oh we're so excited. Besides some cool toys there is also a special prize for the #1 Hooman winner. (Here's a hint: What measures temperature?) Photo of said prize will show on post 1-0-0 too--- you'll all want to win this one!!
Later Cats 'n Jammers!

ELVES!!!

Imagine our horror when we read our mommy's most recent blog and found out that our secret has been discovered. Well, perhaps we should start from the beginning. These are the photos and the following are the words taken from her blog.

(Yes dear readers, this is Hootie SLEEPING with an elf!! Hahahaha. I slipped this pic in!BRD)

This is the excerp from her blog:

Elves.

Yup, farrr North Idaho is the hideout for a band of Elves. Apparently one of these Elves broke into our cabin while I was asleep and talked the dogs into having a party. They chewed on a few Christmas CD covers, ate a couple cubes of butter, drank a few brewskies, noshed on some of my firewood and generally messed up the cabin. These photos taken by a hidden camera are the only proof that this behaviour was encouraged by an Elf! Here we thought the pooches thought up this mischief all by themselves---the truth is it was Elves!!

Well friends, there ya have it. That's what she posted...Not sure if our Elf buddies will ever come back to visit us since the jigs up, but maybe we are somehow vindicated??

This 'N That

Well, our momma's friend John gave his pooches a bath in WALES the other day and that gave her the reminder that it was time for our monthly bath. Phooey!! Thanks alot John. Now we smell all stinky like "Oh My Dog" cologne. Tried to rub it off on the sofa, the bed, the rugs, just about everywhere, but we still have that just bathed odor. UGH!! The photos above were taken of us playing tug-of-war before the dreaded bath time. It's one of our favorite games (next to el destructo).

On another note, we've started addressing and mailing out our Christmas cards. We would love to mail them to all our buddies but don't have everyone's address. We hope those of you who get them put them in an esteemed place in your home. We think they're suitable for framing!

Mom's best buddy from Tucson has suggested that she have us post a daily "What Did The Dogs Eat Today?" post. Very funny C2---Just 'cuz I got into Mommy's purse and got caught red pawed with a credit card in my mouth---And just 'cuz Hootie devoured one glazed and 1/2 cream filled donut in the back of the car---And just 'cuz I ripped apart Mommy's favorite alpaca pillow...well you get the picture. No can do C2. We don't get into something every day of our life!! Sheesh, you'd think we were terriers or something. Ooops, guess we are!

Approaching the 1-0-0 post friends (this is 97)! Happy Tuesday to ya!

An Early Thanksgiving Wish From Farrr North Idaho

That's me making a snow angel!! Now, what are we thankful for today?? Hootie, you go first. BRD

I'm thankful that snow tastes sooooo yummy. Hootie

I'm thankful that I'm bigger than Hootie and can keep my toys away from him if I want! BRD

“A thankful heart is not only the greatest virtue, but the parent of all the other virtues.” Cicero
(We’re pretty sure Cicero was a dog!)

Thursday is Thanksgiving here in the USA, so Happy Thanksgiving to all who pass this way. Don’t forget to give sloppy kisses to your hoomans!

Farewell Dear Friend

We were so sad to just hear that our sweet friend Snickers passed away today. Our sympathy goes to Butchy and the rest of the family. We will all miss her.

This picture of good witch Snickers made us all smile. Look at those cute little black high heels.

We'll meet you again at the Rainbow Bridge dear friend.

With sadness,

Some More Odds 'n Ends

Well we got a little caught up on a few of our DWB bloggies last night. Mommy had to save them on the laptop and read them off line at home. That's fine, but then we can't leave any comments. Phooey. It was so cool to read that Maggie and Mitch's papa celebrated his 5 year anniversary with his new heart. The hoomans in our family are big supporters of Xplant and all carry organ donor cards. And the Rocky Creek Scotties had pictures of some wee ones that came for a visit! Also some really neat antiquey lookin' cards with Scotties on. Today we're gonna take Bogart's and Mango's bloggies home to read. Slowly but surely we'll get caught up.

The miscellaneous photos above are of the Hootmeister and me playing bitey face a few days ago. Also Daddy wearing his cat-hat (Mom has a matching red one)...We must find out if Mesha (the creator of the hats) could change over to dog hats. We'd prefer canine parents instead of cat people! We got a couple inches of snow yesterday so of course we had to throw in a few pics of that. ANd lastly...guess what Mommy broke the other day?? My Portion Pacer. Yippee!! Who knew it was made out of glass? Now she stuck a big rock in my food dish (was it Fergie and Jake's mommy who suggested that??) but it doesn't slow me down as much as the PP rolling around in there.
Love all you guys to pieces,
Baby Rocket Dog

Joining the Circle of Paws

Our friend Snickers is having health problems, so we have joined the Circle of Paws to help her get better. Also wishing on the dog star with our friend Asta.

While we are at it, our dear old buddy, Buffy, in Montana has a cancerous tumor over her eye and it can't be removed. Her owner, Ilse, is 81 years old and Buffy is her best friend in the world. So, we are asking our buddies in DWB to please keep Buffie in your thoughts and prayers too. Here are some photos from our visit with Buffy and Ilse last week. Mommy didn't want to leave us off our leashes as she was afraid we would be too rambunctious for Buffie. She is kind of grumpy ... always has been. In fact, Buffie liked our (no longer with us) cat-brother, Chuck better than she likes us!! Hmmmm.

Love to all our poochie buddies,

Yappy Hour and Costume Contest at Evens Coffee Co.

These first photos are of us trying on some of our costumes at home. The Yappy Hour also had a costume contest so we wanted to come prepared.

This soccer ball cap is Hootie's and they thought it was fun to have me try it on. Why do they get such laughs out of these things??

The folks decided this Bono vest fit me best, so this is what I wore to the costume party.

Actually this vest was pretty cool. Once I got used to it. At first I tried to roll it off!

Here's Hootie wearing one of the outfits that Mommy rejected. He loves his sailor hat. Can you tell?

This was another outfit that Mom rejected. Daddy said Paddington Bear wears a yellow raincoat.

The Bassets didn't dress up for the occasion. They decided to go to the party as dogs.

This Golden guys name was Elvis. Cool cape!

Here I am socializing...This was before I discovered the dog biscuit lady.

This big white guy's name was Dieter. Doesn't sound very French to me! He was a nice fellow.
I could hardly believe this is a devil dog. Way too sweet for that.

Hootie got some excellent butt sniffing time in when Dad left him off his leash. Poodle butt. Nice!

Isn't she a cute little ladybug? Can't remember her name, but her Momma was nice.

The butterfly is Miss Bella, Dr. Dre's girlfriend. She is part Airedale, so I'll call her sister Bella.

The Panhandle Animal Shelter benefited from the hoomans imbibing in wine and beer. Great!

Bella got caught in the gate and our daddy helped rescue her ~ that's his cute hooman butt!!

Dr. Dre was the one who told us about this party and we were so happy to see him again.

I, Baby Rocket Dog, didn't really have a costume. Mom said I was Sonny of Sonny & Cher, but I didn't have a wig to go with my vest, so no one knew who I was supposed to be. I spent most of my time hanging around the wine lady, 'cuz she had dog biscuits and if I sat and stared at her she'd give me some.

Here's a good shot of Hootie in his prison garb. The red, lighted collar was a last minute addition.

Here is the winners circle: The Oreos (2 black Labs and a yellow Lab) dressed as a singing group from the 80's won "Most Creative". Dr. Dre won for "Best Dressed". And Hootie won for "Best Bling"!! The prize for each was a nice bag of coffee beans. Do you think we'll ever see them?? I think not.

And here is Dr. Dre and Hootie basking in the lime light. I must say they were pretty cute.

Sure hope you all enjoyed the night at the Yappy Hour as much as we did! Have a great week end.

Smooches from pooches,

Baby Rocket Dog & Hootie
