Pet Walk 2010 Tempe Town Lake

Last Sunday was the annual PetSmart Pet Walk for PetSmart Charities.
We got to the Pet Walk an hour before things started hopping!
This is Dad, Hootie & me at the entrance.
Here is Colin, from our Dales & Friends Group,
with his and Donna's Dales, Lucy & Charlie.
More Airedales from our Dales & Friends Meetup group.

Here we are checking out one of the watering stations.

And another buddy from Dales & Friends. By the way, over half of the dogs from our group were adopted from the SouthWest Airedale Terrier Rescue (SWATR).

This is Donna with Charlie, manning the booth for SWATR.

Mommy with us in front of the SWATR stand.

What do you suppose Mommy is doing here??

This is the Bowzer Beer stand. Good stuff!

Here is Hootie saying hi to a 10 year old Welshie names Lala. She growled at him. hehe.

Ooooo this is the start of the 1 mile walk. That's what we did.

Well what do ya know?
There was a WFT at the start of the race who gave Hootie a good luck smooch!

The line of people & pooches seemed to stretch forever.

Another view of the hooman and poochie 1 mile walk.

Yes, Hootie had to leave plenty of pee-mail.

It was such a beautiful day for a walk.

See Dad & me? The line split in two so we took the low road
and Mommy & Hoots took the high road.

Here are some of the Dales & Friends stragglers!
We were on our way back when they were just starting.

More pics of the Dales & Friends.

We had to check out the water's edge.
Kinda murky, but it's fed by a canal, so what did ya expect?!

The guy leaning over is Eddie and he really likes Hootie.
So many Dales. Who is who??

The little Welshie on the left is Maxwell.
He's the same age as Hootie, but he weighs about 10# less.
Hootie is such a substantial guy!!
Here's a better pic so you can see the difference in their size.

This guy is an Irish Terrier that we just met on Sunday.
Is he the McGillinator?
Oops, no he doesn't smell like McGillicutty!

Lookie, I love to do high 5 for treats.
Hey, you're supposed to give me 5 too lady!! Well, as long as you give me a treat you can slide on the high 5.

This big Dane was so friendly. I'll post a collage of all the different breeds of pooches on a future post.

Here's Mom and the Hootster.

Did you notice our folks have on matching shirts? CORNY!! At least it was easier to not get them lost. hehe.

Well, that's it for now. We had a lovely time at the PetWalk again this year and hope to attend next year. "God willing and the canal don't rise." Sure hope you all have a great weekend!

Wet Dog Day...

Two weeks ago we all went to a Dales and Friends Meetup at Cosmo Dog Park in Gilbert, Arizona. It was so much fun. Only thing is, Mommy had Daddy throw Baby into the deep water and we weren't sure that she was gonna come up!! Well, she did emerge and swam a fast doggy paddle to shore. At least she knows she can swim now. I got wet too and had so much fun. We met up with several Airedales and their people. Marley (a girldale), Beasley (of Mr.T-Bone fame) and Dudley (a huge boydale) kinda took me under their wings. When a non-terrier type pooch would start to act mean toward me they would scare 'em off! That was so cool. This one boxer really did not like me so his hooman took him away. I think he was afraid Dudley would beat his butt!! he he.

Folks always tease our mommy because they know when she takes a picture it most probably will turn up on our blog. Well, this is for you Amy & Bease!! Toodles, Hootie

Dales & Friends Meet Up on March 21st

It was a warm day for the Dales & Friends Meet Up on Saturday. The dog park that was chosen had no shade. I was the first one ready to go home. That's me with the red, white & blue scarf on by the gate. "Come on folks! Let's get out of here!!"

Photos By Ryan Stewart

These photos were taken by Ryan Stewart at the Dales & Friends Meetup on Feb 15th. The top one is of me after an hour or so of chasing the ball. It was so great because complete strangers would throw balls for me! It's strange how some of the other Airedales thought the balls were being thrown for them! The bottom photo is me smiling for the camera. I thought Ryan asked ME to say "chewwwws" for the camera, but here he was taking a picture of Hootie playing puppy-jump with Marley! Marley's hooman mommy, Terry, really liked Hootie, so I think he was showing off for her. Hootie seemed to have a crush on Marley, and of course the doofus has no idea that he isn't half her size. I hope she breaks it to him easy and doesn't break his little Welshie heart. I better go now. I think a Merrick's Beef Bone is calling my name!!

Our Sunday With Dales & Friends Meetup

Today was the 2nd meetup of Dales & Friends of AZ. We met over at Papago Dog Park in Tempe and what a crowd! It's a small dog park, so our hoomans had an easier time keeping track of us. Mommy had the nerve to say she had trouble finding Baby Rocket Dog because they all looked alike to her!!! BabyRD had her red moose halter on, so Mommy really could tell who Baby was. People. Hmmm. Lucky for me I was the only Welshie there, so I was a true individualist. Here I am looking special.

Baby (once again) swiped Dudley's saucer and wanted to play tug of war with his Dad, Eddie. Our daddy had to get her to drop it. She wasn't very happy to do that.

Whenever a new pup and their person came to the gate, we'd all greet them. We were such a lovely welcoming committee. Here comes T-Bone Beasley and his girl, Amy!

I don't know who this beautiful specimen of a Dale is, but we teamed up to meet & greet.
This fellow's name is Buck. His little girl wrapped her sweater around his neck & we nick named him Yuppie Dale.
There is Mom & Lucy on the right. That is one of the Papago Mountains in the background.
Hey, there's a Golden Retriever amongst all those Airedales!! They were an inclusive group.

Donna's pup, Lucy, has the pink clown necklace on. Donna & her husband, Colin, are the group leaders of Dales & Friends. Lucy's brother, Charlie, was very attractive and I followed him around awhile & attempted to "hip" him. He put me in my place & my mom said that was good that he did it. Can you imagine my mommy being so mean?? I was just doing what came naturally. I also met an Airedale beauty named Marley who was there with her hoomans Terry and Ryan. She is less than a month older than I am, and we got along famously. Somehow Mommy missed getting a picture of us together. Maybe next meetup Marley, my love!!

Lookie, there's the tail end of an Argentinian Dogo and a Wirehaired Fox Terrier too. What an eclectic group we were!!

Here I am smiling at Baby Rocket Dog after we got home. She wanted to show off her moose/tree halter. I wore my matching moose collar today too.

The videos that Mommy took today didn't turn out very good. Dad told her she was shooting into the sunlight. I talked her into printing them anyway. I hope they don't hurt your eyes. Bye for now.

Many Wonderful Welshie Wishes, Hootie
