Questions & Answers!!!

Helloooooo Pooches, Cats ‘n Jammers! Hootie has taken over our blog for several posts now, so I have decided it is time to take it back. So, it is time once again for answers to some of our friend’s burning (& not so burning) questions.

Rocky Creek Scotties and Java said...
We often wonder if the excitement of the run is worth being tied up and on leash. But sometimes we try it anyway.XOXOLilly, Piper, Carrleigh and Java

Baby Rocket Dog: Though this was actually not really posed as a qq I’ll add my 2cents. Yes, the excitement is wayyyy worth it! I get Mommy to build up her trust in me, then ZAP!! --- I make a run for it. Chasing the deer and feeling the wind in my tail and the wet, dirty forest floor bushes scratching my back makes my imprisonment worth it for at least a few days. sigh.

Inky and Molly said... Q: Are you allowed on the pinkies bed and can you post some pictures?
AND
Noah the Airedale said... We would like to know the answer to the question Inky & Molly asked about being allowed on the bed.tailwagsNoah Willow Tess Lucy

BRD: Well actually I am not allowed on their bed…but I jump up on it once in a while in pursuit of the Hootie or if there is something there that I desire. Our mommy experimented with letting me up there down in Phoenix last April, but their bed is small and really not enough room for the whole crew, so I was once again banished. Hootie on the other hand sleeps half the night up on their bed. Not fair really, but Mommy tries to make it up to me with fluffy doggy pillows all over the floor. BUT, guess what? I sleep on the sofa in the living room and don‘t usually have to share that with anybody! (the pics below are from down in Phoenix in April.)

Mack and Sally Ann said...
I have a question: What is the best way for a proper Welsh dog to beg?

BRD: I’ll give this one to Hootie since he’s the Welshie around here. Take it Hoots!

Hootie: Well, ‘cuz I’m so cute I rarely have to beg, but I’m real good at sitting and staring up, looking really darling. I have tried sitting on my bum with paws cocked, but usually end up jumping. I’m an out of control jumper. Sorry Mom and Dad. It’s who I am. Not sure if other Welsh Terriers are as nuts as I am though.

NORWOOD UNLEASHEDsaid…
what's the funniest or craziest thing you have done?

Hootie: Oh I get this one. Craziest thing: I nearly gave Momma apoplexy last December. She fell asleep for a nap and took off her diamond ear studs, hooking them together and laying them on her chest. Well, when she awoke she forgot about them. She heard me crunching on something…but I swallowed ‘whatever it was’ before she could get to me. A few hours later she remembered her earrings and searched all over the bed and the floor for them. Then, the light came on over her head! I ATE THEM!!! She called the vet and he said to search through my poo for a few days & if they didn’t turn up I’d need to go in for surgery. Well, she found all kinds of exciting things in my stool…candle wax and wick, stinky bugs & flys, the nose to her snowman ornament and finally at the end of day 2, her earrings. Yes, that was a day of rejoicing indeed. I was just glad that she was no longer following me around in 5 feet of snow with a plastic freezer bag!!

(these are the diamond earrings---the posts were both completely bent over! hehe.)

Sorry I forgot to ask a question. Can I ask two now to make up for it?Hootie. Are you REALLY in love with Lacie? If the answer is yes I have a further question for BRD!!!BRD. Hmm...think your welshie brother might be a sandwich short of a picnic?!!!Hah hah hah! Wiry wags n kisses Eric xxxx

Hootie: Yes, I love Lacie. She occasionally throws me a bone, and that’s good enough for me, because I also love Agatha and have my eye on a few other lovely lady pooches. I was signed up with Scooby’s dating service for a while, but decided I want to be free and play the field. I get mad crushes on many of the more full-figured pooches too, but so far none of them has shown an interest in compact, l’il ole me!

BRD: Yes, yes, you’ve nailed it Eric! He IS a sandwich & a pickle short of a picnic!!

Agatha and Archie said...
We do have a little question..What are you afraid of in the dark??
BRD: I’m not really sure. I’ve always been a bit timid, especially for an Airedale so at night I tend to stick close to the cabin. (Certain noises really scare me so maybe it’s the
scary forest noises that keep me close to home.)

Molly,Taffy and Monty said...
Sorry you are being grounded for a bit. Hoomans just don't have a sense of humour do they? hee hee.
BRD & H: Man, you can say THAT again!! We just keep smiling and hoping that Daddy and Mommy will eventually get the joke.

Sorry to hear you two have been naughty. But it sure is nice to feel the wind beneath your wings eh?

BRD & H: You betcha!!

Last, but not least,

Ciao BRD and Hootie!I, Lucia, have a question, asked on behalf of la mia ragazza, who loves BRD's name. Here's the question:Baby Rocket Dog, how did you get your bellissima name??

BRD: Back when I was just a little 10# pup Mommy called me Baby. She went 2 days before giving me my full name because she wanted just the perfect name to describe me. When we’d go to the park I’d run like the wind, with my legs crossing, just like the picture for the famous Rocket Dog shoes.! That was how I became Baby Rocket Dog. (We have since found that the pooch for the Life Is Good brand has the name Rocket also!) Thank you soooo much for saying my name is bellissima!

Well friends, this wraps up our Q & A session. Hope you have enjoyed it as much as we have.

We are posting a few OLD photos of us (July of 2008) since I was such a cute little puppy and we need to soften Mommy up since she is still a bit mad at us.

Oh man, couldn't believe that we only got one question for the "Ask Us Anything" post. I guess most of our buddies don't think we are worthy. sigh. Well phooey!

We really have been pretty naughty at home lately so you're probably right. We were with Mommy all morning. Went to the last Farmers Market of the season with her and sat in the car when she went to the doctor. Accompanied her to the post office to check the mail and once again sat in the car when she went to get her Rx filled at the pharmacy. Not really what WE consider an exciting day, so when we got home to the cabin and Mommy let us out of the car ~~~we made a run for it!! Side by side we took off like bats out of h--- down the steepest side of our property! Clean out of sight. Mommy ran inside and came out & blew the whistle-...nothing. Then she rang the bell...still nothing. We needed to feel the wind beneath our wings so felt it necessary to ignore the old gal. Anyway, long story short, she had to get in the car and drive down to the county road to find us. Now not only are we going to be tied up when we aren't in our kennel outside, but she said she will escort us out of the car from now on on a leash. The exception will be when she allows us out at night since Baby Rocket Dog is afraid of the dark so doesn't lead me astray then. (I always blame her, since she is a year and half older than I.)

Mommy says we need to regain her trust now. We'll see. WelshieSmooches, Hootie

Now, here is Dewey's qq:

Dewey Dewster said...
Gee guys....I have ta tell ya that when I saw those pictures on yer blog of lacie 'n 'er....shall we say.....unpredictable....unflattering.....naw...let's tell it like it is...Lacie is a _itch.....'n that's why they call female dogs that unmentionable name...all becuz of Lacie....scared me under the table...made my tail hug the ground....made me slink around the room...Hootie could never be as mean as Lacie.....not ever...Ok my question....What time do ya want ta eat yer dinner and what food on the menu is yer favorite ????Dewey Dewster here....
September 26, 2009 6:37 PM

BabyRD: Thanks Dewey Dewster for playing our little game. I like to eat dinner at 4pm on the dot. I also like to have my breakfast between 7 and 730am. In fact, I am quite insistent and give Mom the heavy pooch-paw on the arm if she is late! I am a big fan of IAMs lamb & rice because I used to have a very touchy stomach and it was one of the few foods I wouldn't barff up! I enjoy corn on the cob, peanut butter and carrots as treats, as well as various Merrick's bones and Vitabones.

Hootie: I always wait until Baby is done with her dinner, then I start mine. She likes to hang around and try to have some of mine, so I usually give her a ferocious growl and tell her to back off. We both are fans of IAMs lamb and rice and Mommy puts chicken broth on mine sometimes too. I eat whatever BabyRD eats, but I eat much slower and truly enjoy my treats. In fact, I often put myself in the little kennel to eaqt my snacks so Baby won't bother me! Oh, and we've recently discovered a new treat imported from Ireland. Can't think of the name at the moment but will insert it when next time we are at the wi-fi spot!!

Hope you all have a terrific weekend.

Ask Us Anything!!

AN EXPLANATION OF THESE PICTURES WILL FOLLOW QQ & AA.

Yes friends, it is once again time for our question & answer segment. We are opening up our comment section for any and all questions (qq) that you might wish to pose, so please feel free. Here are some examples of most recently asked qq and our replies:

Molly,Taffy and Monty said...
Our hoomans' little senior moments are becoming worryingly more frequent. How would they cope without us?

BRD: It is a fact that they couldn't find their tail without our help. Just yesterday Mommy asked where Hootie was and I had to remind her that he was standing outside the door waiting to come inside!

Inky and Molly said...
Ah well, does it really matter??

Hootie: Very deep thought Inky & Molly! One must ask does anything really matter? Then my quick response would be, "YES!! Bring me my chow on time...this waiting around 'til half past 4 makes my stomach rub my backbone. Soooo MOM, dinner time matters!!"

Hamish Westie said...
That's a beautiful mug. But I expect you're going to tell me that you're not allowed to drink from it? Cheers! H

BRD: Helloooo Handsome Hamish! How ya doing? Oh yes, the question. You are correct, we are not allowed to drink from the You're Grand cup. Our mommy is actually saving it to give as a gift so no one in our house can use it. Phooey!

Eric said...
My mom has the same disease- must have travelled all the way over this side of the pee too! Your award was a very nice thought tho so your Mom might be recovering? Wiry wag n kisses Eric xxx

BRD & Hootie: Nope, the old gal's belt is still out of a few loops!

So now, please keep the questions coming and we'll answer them right here on our next post.

On to another subject. Seems like Hootie is acting like the male counterpart to Lacie. On Monday Mommy took us to the dog park in Sandpoint and there was this adorable little Staffordshire (pitbull) Terrier pup there. He was about 4 months old, a little larger than Hootie and so cute. Our Mommy told the young man that owned him it's good to socialize them young and went on to tell him about one down in Phoenix at the dog park that attacked Hootie and how that upset her 'cause he was bleeding and the owner had to pull it off of Hootie. Well, don't know if Hootie sensed that this was the same breed or what, but he decided to act like top dog and growled deeply and stood over the top of the poor pup making the toughest looking bitie face he knows. Mom pulled him off and was totally embarrassed since she was acting all know-it-ally about socializing pooches then he pulls this caper! I was very much like BabyStanley --- I kept my distance and acted innocent. Mom was proud of me as she carried Hootie from the park and I came along like the good girl that I am (most of the time). No wonder Hootie loves Lacie. He acts just like her!! (Pictures don't lie!!)

QQ & AA's With Baby Rocket Dog

Posted by Picasa

Good morning Dear Readers! Once again I am here with answers to many of your burning questions.

From a favorite fellow of mine comes the following:

April 5, 2009, 8:51AM, Hamish Westie says...Hi Baby. I think this post has confirmed, for all of us on the other side of the Pond, that our dear American cousins just haven't got the hang of football (soccer) yet. Perhaps I could come over and explain the rules?? Cheers! H.

Baby Rocket Dog: Darling H., I would like nothing better than for you to get your fuzz butt over here and explain the finer points of football. It is obvious that Hootie hasn't got the flick on it! While you are at it, perhaps you could enlighten us as to what is really under those kilts!

tula said... Oh nooooo...Baby Rocket & Hootie. huh, a toy that becomes a hat. how clevah! Love the look. Bet your mommie is so proud of you! For football season the same thing?
2 funny kiss kisses, tula

Baby Rocket Dog: Sweet Tula. This is an easy one to answer. NO (American) football at our hoomans house! Our Mommy finds it one of the dullest games in existence. We are baseball, basketball and soccer fans here. PLEASE dear readers, no feedback on our dislike of football. That plane has landed.

April 7,2009, 5:11PM, Mason Dixie said...
Do you have a cat around? or know a cat I am sure they could help you out if you paid them enough with treats. Look into it.and tigger could be yours once more =)

Baby Rocket Dog: We once had a cat named Chuck. Lovely to look at, but completely worthless as far as helping with anything. Mommy found his bell collar the other day and when the little bell tinkled I got all excited and was looking around for him. I guess I still have a special place in my heart for old Chuckie boy, even though he wasn't crazy for me and my puppy antics.Good qq Mason!

April 11, 2009, 5:36PM, Norwood Unleashed said... Still waiting for your trademark silly hats photo. Here's a question. How many outfits and hats do you have?

Baby Rocket Dog: Now you're talkin'!! First I'll inventory my outfits here in Phoenix (I still have some snow gear up in Idaho). I own a pink & plaid, reversible rain coat, a pink, lined winter wrap, a (fake) fur stole, what I call my Sonny Bono suede vest,a really cool Mexican beach cover up, 3 t-shirts with numbers or sayings on, of course my tierra, and I've lost count of my collars and bandannas! Now Hootie is the hat guy. He does have 2 winter coats, a pair of swim trunks,a polo shirt and a couple baseball shirts, but his sailor uniform is his favorite(it started out as a sailor dress but Mom modified it for him). He just got a sailor hat recently to add to his collection, making a total of 5 hats!

And here he is! TaaDaa!

What causes brake squeal? Oops, wait that goes with my Car Facts column! Never mind!!

So Dear Readers, I bid you a fond adieu for now. Hootie has prepared a "walk about" of our place here in Phoenix for his pup friend,Agatha, so stay tuned for that. Hope you have a lovely day!

QQ & AA's With Baby Rocket Dog

Posted by Picasa
Good Morning Dear Readers! Today's blog will be dedicated to answering a few questions that have come to us in the past few months. We have been remiss in answering them, to be frank, because our mommy is our secretary and she has been bit by Spring fever and become lazy. And that's the truth. We will only be addressing 4 qq today and save some others for another installment of Answers by Baby Rocket Dog, Junior Reporter & Consumer Affairs Advocate.

A while back during one of the many times that Hootie was incarcerated NORWOOD UNLEASHED said...
Oh no Hootie. What is going on over there..is it spring fevah too? Do you need bail? I get post it for you?I don't think stripes will look good on you. Let's get you out.

Baby Rocket Dog: So nice of you to volunteer bail Norwood, but Hootie has been in and out of the clink so many times he now has a revolving credit account set up! You're right about the stripes...That's why he isn't a NY Yankees fan. {{Go Diamondbacks!!}}

Then the following came after the Spring Fling contest from Butchy and Snickers: Congrats to all of the winners! Hootie you are so silly.Doesn't your Mama know that you need to taste test all treats & toys before mailing?? Luv & Wirey Hugs,Butchy, Snickers, Ruby, Sylvester & Scuby

Baby Rocket Dog: Mom is an older parent and needs to be reminded of this stuff. If you could just drop her a note or come by now and then to make sure she's remembered to feed us it would be much appreciated.

Our look-a-like Airedale/Welshie team from Switzerland, Faya said...
Hahahahaha I love the way you play ! ...uuuhh in fact we are playing the same way...I have a question : is Hootie a big welsh or are you Baby a small airedale ? It looks like there is more difference between Dyos and I (I am a big airedale...) ?Kisses, Faya April 4th,2009

Baby Rocket Dog: Great question Faya! We notice that in some of the pictures Hoots looks bigger than he actually is. Here are our stats: Hootie weighs in at 22.3 pounds (aprox. 10kg) and is 17" high (43cm)at his shoulders. I weigh a ladylike 57 pounds (25.8kg)and am 25" high (63.5cm) at the shoulders. Now we would like to know what your stats are too! We went first, it's your turn.

And finally, back in March Moco said... Are the two of you cute, cute, cute or what?

Baby Rocket Dog: We have to answer that with the affirmative. YES, we try our best!!

And that, Dear Readers, completes this installment of "Answers by Baby Rocket Dog".
