Our Find Your Better Half Entry ~ Hootie & Meg

Our friend John lives in Trelawnyd,Wales and one of his many critters is Miss Meg the Welshie. She is definitely my mirror image in female form, so we decided to enter Norwood's Find Your Better Half Contest for MangoMinster2011. We labeled the photos so you could tell who is who!! (The cute little Scotty is George.) Norwood is going to donate $1 for each entry up to $50, and the winner gets to give it to the charity of their choice. Our charity of choice will be the Motor Neuron Disease Association, for John's brother, Andrew, who has Progressive Bulbar Palsy,a type of Lou Gehrig's Disease(ALS). His sister Janet has a blog devoted to him and the fight for a cure. Wish us luck, please!!

Wouldn't be much of a prize for him would it? BOL!

We posted more of the entries that came in for our MM2011 Side Entry Costume Contest. You can see them under our Jan.19 post ~ which is where we'll be posting the photos until the Feb 6th entry cut off date. Everyone is just so adorable that it's gonna be a close call in all the categories. We are VERY lacking in Feline entrants, so if you are a cat or know a cat or have a cat costume, please send us a photo! If you're wondering how the judging will take place, here's our (current) idea: We will have Poochies Choice voting and also Mommy has assembled a non-biased panel of hooman judges here in Phoenix to help out. Remember, usually we've just done GiveAways, and this is our first time doing an actual contest, so please bear with us. Thanks to all who have sent in their entries so far! Keep 'em coming!! Now we're off to see what's shakin' over at Mango's place. It looks like the only category left to enter at MangoMinster2011 is the CaT-egory. Get it? Cats. hehe.

Enter Our Mango Minster 2011 Side Event!

Well, it looks like the events over at Mango Minster 2011 are filling up quickly. We did not enter this year but have negotiated with MangoMomma to do a side event. SOooo, if you'd like to enter yet another event, or haven't entered MM2011 yet, and your category is already filled, there is still time to enter our MM~Costume Contest! Yes buddies, we're sponsoring a side event that is opened to all pooches and any other pets that have blogs. All you have to do is send us a picture of yourself "in costume" to our email: cassiejo(AT)juno(DOT)com , including your name and your blog address. Easy-Peasy! It can be any sort of costume and doesn't even have to be gender appropriate (as demonstrated by Hootie right here). It can be as simple as a goofy pair of glasses, a pair of mis-matched socks or a hat. Let your imaginations run wild! There will be prizes, depending upon the number and type of entries we have. This should be a fun side event. So, please costume-up, grab a camera and join in the fun. (No Photoshop please.) Last day to enter will be February 6th, the day before the MangoMinster 2011 show begins.
