Lookie, Lookie What I Found!!!

Can you make out what I have in my mouth? Read on for the story...

Baby Rocket Dog and I are having a blast now that we are back in North Idaho. All we have to do is stand at the door and Mommy lets us outside to run around. What could be better?

I must tell you about this strange little thing I found in the woods on Monday. I was so proud of myself, having made this most excellent find. I came out of the woods to show it to my mom and daddy and Mommy said, "Hootie has something in his mouth!" Well, this is not unusual for me, as I have been very busy unearthing rawhide chews that Baby & I hid in the woods last year. Mom & Daddy always take them away from me. Something about them being black, slimy and moldy (just the way I like 'em!) and then they throw them in the trash!! Can you imagine? Anyway, back to my story. Mommy ran into the cabin to get her camera and started calling me to come to her and of course I wouldn't, cause I figured this was yet another thingy she would take away from me. Here's the video for you to see for yourself. (You might wish to turn down the volume, as she is screeching like a banshee at me.)

Great find huh? They tricked me into getting in the car, so I dropped the bun-bun on the seat and Dad grabbed me & Mommy got the bunny. Well, I got to go for a ride in the car with the snowshoe bunny over to one of the folk's friends house. This Jim guy is what my mom calls "nature man" and she knew he'd know what to do with the bunny. (NOW, I knew what to do with him, but they didn't quite like my idea.) Jim and his wife have 2 little bipeds and they said they'll take good care of the bunny so he can fend for himself and then they'll let him go in their woods. I wanted to play with him some more, but the folks figured he'd be better off a few miles away from me. Go figure. Meanwhile, BabyRD was the perfect angel, not getting into any trouble. PPffffffffttttt!!

I think Aggie will be proud of what a fine earth dog I am... and I haven't even been trained!! Well, I better go see what kind of mischief awaits me now.

Welshie Smooches, Hootie

ps-Baby will tell you about the Memorial Day parade and our friend, Rachel the chocolate Lab at a later date.

Oh Hootie - what a good hunting dog you are! I'm glad you didn't crunch the bunny, he's pretty cute. Looks like great fun in the wild woods - make sure you don't bring home a snake or anything like that.

Cheers,
Ruby

Hootie, You were so kind not to crush the bunbun with your terrier jaws. Our mom just doesn't want us to bring home any dead birds! But we never get off leash unless we sneak.

Have fun at your cabin - we miss seeing you.

Oh Hootie
What fun - and you got your mum to shriek! Excellent!
These humans think it is fun when we chase the bunnies and the squirrels but when we catch them they get all upset and want to save them.......
We will never understand the human perspective!
Glad you are having such a great time - good hunting Hootie!

Smart boy Hootie!! Catching a real live bunnie and not even destuffing him... I only managed to find a dead one and my Mom sounded a LOT like yours.

I have been able to be around for a while so I had a good time reading all your travelling adventures and went and looked at your Aunties wool. Hmm I'm thinking about wrist warmers made from my furs for Mom to knit for herself...heeheee ..!!!

Looks like all your adventures were a blast, great to catch up and see what you got up to.

My Amy found a nest one year, she gently brought 3 of them to the back door and would not leave their side all the days we tried to nurse them. unfortunatley they did not make it. ;( She meant well.

Hey hootie your mom sounds just like mine, ya know? Always taking the good stuff just as I am about to scarf it down. But wow, a LIVE bunny. Last week I actually did eat a bunny but it was already dead, therefore very easy to catch. Smelled really great, too.

Hootie Boy!

You are one AireMazing Welshie boy, and yet so gentle with the baby bunny. I'm surprised he survived long enough to be plopped onto the carseat, but I'm kinda glad he did. I'm partial to little fuzzy creatures.

My girl said that her sweet Aireboy, Bert, who she thought would never hurt a fly, found a whole warren of baby bunnies in the yard one day. They way my girl found out? She heard them each cry as Bert ate them. She said she never quite looked at Bert the same way again (though she loved the stuffin' out of him).

Thanks for your post card and for Stella's birthday card! We can't believe you remembered her birthday while you were traveling cross country!

I'm going to catch up now on all of your earlier posts!

Goober love & smooches,
Stanley

I'm glad you were sweet to the bunny, mio caro amico, and am happy that you and BRD are doing so well in your summer home! It looks magnifico there!
