Not Worth The Money...

This is just gonna be a short little post that alerts our fellow pooches to an item that our mommy purchased that is Not Worth The Money! We may make this a monthly post, depending on how often our thick mommy gets swizzed.

The item featured today was purchased online at http://www.jklgrooming.com/ . After my lousy haircut at PS on March 19th Mom searched for an instructional drawing for a proper Airedale cut. She found this website and ordered the 8 1/2 x 11, double sided, hard copy , grooming poster for $6.99 + $5.95 S&H, $12.94USD total. (That is their discription of the item.)

The chart arrived today, and it did look just like the picture, but it was a xeroxed copy , and not on hard stock paper or laminated. Just a double sided copy of the chart in a light plastic sleeve. What a disappointment this was. Now the write up did not say it was on cardboard or laminated, it just said "hard copy" so Mommy may have jumped to a conclusion there. Does anyone else think this sounds like a rip-off?

Well, that concludes our first installment of "Not Worth The Money.../??". If you have any suggestions for future posts, let me know!

Your Consumer Reporter,

Baby Rocket Dog

So sorry you got taken advantage of. There are a lot of great vendors out there and then once in a while, you get cheated - I call this my 99% rule and it applies to almost everything else in life - 99% of life is great, it's that 1% that keeps you awake at night wondering what went wrong.

I have a suggestion for your post - PediPaws at www.pedipaws.com. I got mine at Target so was able to take it back, but it just wouldn't be worth the bother to try to return it to the company. Anyway, it is probably great for cats, small birds and tiny dogs, but for big Scottie nails and Lab nails, it's not worth it -spend your $19.99 on a dremel at Lowes or Home Depot and get something that will grind nails. It would take days to grind down their nails using the PediPaw - if I could even get them in the slit for the nail.

Gotta run - have a great evening.

Lynn

Sorry xxxx

Getting tricked is no fun! I think that's an excellent idea for a post though. I heard that the pedipaws thing from tv isn't worth getting either...

Thanks for the info. We wouldn't let the crazy old bat near us with any types of clippers or scissors.

Bummer to get ripped off for a photocopy. Kay visited this site to get the confidence to clip me - http://www.airedaleterriers.org/articles/haircut.html - and it's free.

Good luck,

This is better than "Marvin Zindler, I witness News!" He was our scam/bad-dirty restaurant reporter/ rip-off alertist here in Houston till he went to the RB. Thanks for keeping us in the Know!

Well that totally stinks! Thanks for letting us know about this crappy 'poster'.

Well that's really too bad.
You know, so much can go wrong with this whole haircuts for dogs thing - see my latest post!
Whatever, I think you're gorgeous anyway.

Boy, that really sucks! Our mom has gotten ripped off, quite often, by buying stuff on-line. Next time you go to get groomed, tell your mom to ask if they know how to do a show cut for an Airedale. And it needs to be the old style rather than the new one...unless you want way too much furs left under your tail. Two different groomers did that to Penny before she took us back to our regular groomer who does the show cut.

Aire-hugs,
Poppy, Penny & Patches

BRD & H: Hope your mommy didn't throw away that "sucker" head band from a couple of blog postings ago. Hahahahaha!!! :-D

BRD!!

You look like a female Ralph Nader in those glasses. Very scholarly and consumer protectionist! Thanks for the heads up. If you want to compare what your mama got in the mail with what my girl uses, there is a detailed explanation on the Airedale Rescue page for our area of the country. It's at http://www.aire-rescue.com/index.php?id=453
I just checked and there's no diagram, but really good instructions (and a PDF at the bottom of a pamphlet you can print off).

You guys have been SOOO busy. I LOVE the photo of you and the Hootoober Boy after your playtime at the dogpark! You both look pooped but happy! (If you want a goober name maybe it could be something like Baby Rockoober Dog ~ you decide!)

You guys get ready for a great weekend with your peeps! I'm sure you'll have a blast no matter what you do! (Wish I could run and wrassle with you guys!)

goobery love & kissies,
Stella
