Not Worth The Money...

This is just gonna be a short little post that alerts our fellow pooches to an item that our mommy purchased that is Not Worth The Money! We may make this a monthly post, depending on how often our thick mommy gets swizzed.

The item featured today was purchased online at http://www.jklgrooming.com/ . After my lousy haircut at PS on March 19th Mom searched for an instructional drawing for a proper Airedale cut. She found this website and ordered the 8 1/2 x 11, double sided, hard copy , grooming poster for $6.99 + $5.95 S&H, $12.94USD total. (That is their discription of the item.)

The chart arrived today, and it did look just like the picture, but it was a xeroxed copy , and not on hard stock paper or laminated. Just a double sided copy of the chart in a light plastic sleeve. What a disappointment this was. Now the write up did not say it was on cardboard or laminated, it just said "hard copy" so Mommy may have jumped to a conclusion there. Does anyone else think this sounds like a rip-off?

Well, that concludes our first installment of "Not Worth The Money.../??". If you have any suggestions for future posts, let me know!

The End of a Fun Weekend

This is us Sunday, after playing at the dog park on Dunlap & 25th Avenue. Boy were we tired out! We had a very busy weekend. We flew to NYC to attend the fabulous Spring Fling dance at the famed Rainbow Room. Hootie spent most of the time under the table, spying on his main crush, Lacie the Lakie. I met an older gentledog named Hamish from Scotland. He enjoyed his champagne but was still able to foxtrot and do a few fancy new steps! We spent most of the evening dancing together. Petey threw this fun shindig and I want to thank him for helping arrange the gowns and jewels that I wore. We returned back to Phoenix in time to make a trip to the dog park on Sunday. When Mommy and Dad went to church at 530pm Sunday evening we didn't even get into any mischief!! We were that tired!

Here's a photo and excerpt from Petey's blog:

Taking advantage of the stunning views of the Empire State Building, Baby Rocket showed Hamish the latest steps. Then this old dog showed Baby a few tricks of his own! Willow looked every inch a supermodel in her figure-hugging red halter dress from the House of Asta. Just Harry was proud as punch to be escorting her to the dance floor. Meanwhile, Mango the Maltese Kiddo and his Crystal snuggled and shared a glass or two of Cristal...

As they say, a good time was had by all.

Prizes Ready to Mail

Hootie: a sign of things to come!

An open letter to the Spring Fling winners:

Dear Asta, Mason, Chase, Maggie & Mitch ~

We helped Mommy wrap your prizes up this evening. She likes to do that sort of thing on her bed because she can spread everything out. There were a few incidents, but everything is now ready to go out in the mail tomorrow morning. Hootie ran off with Mason's Jai Alai ball toss but Mom caught him before he made it his own. If you'll remember from the March 19th post, he had his eye on that for a while. Sorry about that Mason, he didn't slobber on it too much. Then, I got up on the bed and stole a bone she was going to tuck into a package. I got the plastic wrap off of it and yum was that tasty. Mom made both of us kennel up at that point. She told me I was a greedy guts! Hey, that bone looked just like one that she should have bought for me...how was I to know? Anyway, she finally got everything wrapped and now it's just waiting to be mailed tomorrow morning. Yippee!

Smooches from pooches, Baby Rocket Dog & Hootie

p.s.~The picture at the top was taken 3/19. Oh, and I got to keep the bone I confiscated. he he he.

Grand Prize

Here is the moment we've all been waiting for!!

3rd Place winner is: Chase

2nd Place winner is: Mason Dixie

AND the Grand Prize Winner is: Asta

Now, we need to notify each winner to arrange for the prizes to be mailed out. Congrats to all the winners and thank you to all the pups who entered the Spring Fling contest. We are so glad to have made your acquaintance!

Asta, now you must choose one of these 5 prizes (below) to go with your new leash & collar. Let us know which one you would like. Or, you can trade the leash & collar for one of the 3 larger prizes. We're easy!

What is this? Mommy said we had to have at least one Airedale winner, so Daddy was instructed to keep drawing until an Airedale popped up. Well, his very next draw was Maggie & Mitch. Good. Now this is finally over!! XO-BRD & Hootie

Baby Had A Bad Hair(cut) Day

"What CHEW lookin' at??"

Doesn't she appear humiliated at this dastardly doo??

Sorry girl, but this is a really bad hair day for the Airey set!

Here I am checking out her (less than)fuzzbutt shot!

Baby got her hairs cut yesterday at "PS" and the gal apparently didn't know what an Airedale is supposed to look like. She looks like a freaky Giant Schnauzer! Mommy finally got up the courage to call the place today and she's taking BabyRD back in to see if they can at least blend the hair on her back legs and mid-section. It's pretty bad pups. At least it will eventually grow back and by then we'll be home in Idaho and the best groomer in the world, Jody from Sandpoint, will fix her up. I feel so sorry for her now, I can't even make any jokes.
Later pups & jammers! X-Hootie

Spring Fling Give Away!!

First prize winner gets a choice between these 3 items: An AKC Bone Toss, an AKC Jai Alai Ball Toss and a Doggy Hoots Tug-o-Rama. Hootie seems to be interested in the ball toss! 2nd & 3rd prizes will be of our choosing. They're all good though!

This beautiful leather leash and collar will also go to the grand prize winner. (Mommy purchased a size small matching collar too, in case a little dog is the winner.)

We had so much fun in February with our Grand Opening Give Away that we decided to have a Spring Fling Give Away. Mommy got a "screamin' deal" on some cool doggy toys so we are itching to give some away. (Well mostly Hootie is itching---he has allergies!) The only thing you need to do to be in the drawing is sign up as a follower of our blog. To get extra entries, just stop by and leave a comment on our blog. We will count comments from March 17th until March 24th at 4pm PST. Each comment counts as an extra entry and we can tell you from the previous contest that the folks with the most entries were the top 3 winners! Oh, and if you sign our guestbook you will get 2 extra entries. So, get those paws a clicking on the keyboard! Fun prizes await you!

A Good Tired

It was 92 degrees in Phoenix today. The temperature plus us running all over while at the dog park really tired us out. We slept like babies. Mommy left us alone for an hour afterwards and we didn't even have the energy to get into mischief!

Hootie's Hat & Miss Lacie Said Yes!

Mommy & Daddy think it's funny to put Hootie in a hat. He wears them well. Actually when they put a hat on his head he kind of freezes in place. It's really funny. He just stands in place until they remove the hat. Here are a few pictures of my little leprechaun brother. Ha ha ha!

Airekisses & hugs, Baby Rocket Dog

Hootie here. I hope you all have had your laughs at my expense. What can I say. I'm a male fashion plate. I appreciate a nice chapeau. AND none other than Miss Lacie has finally taken notice of me!! I'm so excited. She told me now that I'm lookin' so old that she will finally pencil me into her little black book! Yes! So friends, I'm thinking that the hats are working or Lacie wouldn't be giving me a date. My first date with a girl! Whoo Haa!

XOXO, Hootie The Welsh Wonder Dog

Puppy Class Graduation Night!!

It happened folks!! I graduated from Puppy Class tonight. I know there were a few out there who doubted I could do it, but I persevered and tonight was the reward. Hairy Houdini AKA Hootie is now the proud graduate of PetSmart's puppy class.

Grooming & My Health Up Date

Monday evening Hootie got groomed. The groomer, Sylvia, said he was the perfect gentleman & he stood for her like a little show dog! He looks so much older than his 10 months now! Here are a few before and after pictures.

As for me, Baby Rocket Dog, I went to the vet yesterday morning. He said I must be an athlete (which made me proud, as I do play a mean game of fetch!) because I had a good strong heartbeat and it was slow. I did have some blood in my stool, but no parasites or anything. I am on a bland diet of long grain, white rice and chicken broth. Not too bad actually, when you're starving!! Dr. Boggess said I either have a sensitive GI tract or it could be Crohn's disease or something like that. Mommy has to watch my pooh for any further blood of course, diarrhea and I am taking an antibiotic just to make sure I don't have an infection.

I'll keep you all posted on how I'm doing.

Why Does Hootie Keep Getting Into Trouble?

Yup, Hootie got put in jail yet again.

See this unopened TV box in the back bedroom? Notice the hole chewed in the box?

See what was sitting just 2 feet away from the box? Uh huh, that's our toy basket.

I just do not understand why he does such things. Ah well, he is still just a pup!

By the way, I'm feeling a little better today. Still a bit of stomach upset but not as bad as it was. Thanks for the get well wishes. To see what happened to me on Friday night you can go to Mommy's blog where she tells the story.

Hope you're all having a good weekend.

Big Sloppy AireSmooches,

Baby Rocket Dog (The detainee is out of jail but very ashamed.)

Hootie & The Bean

The Jelly Belly bus was in Phoenix and Mommy took me to get my picture taken with the bean. She had to get in the picture and ruin my chance of taking a tasty bite of him! Phooey!

Dear Friends,

We are taking a few days break from blogging in memory of our friend Klaus, Bogart's daddy and Lulu's love and husband. His passing has hit our little blogging community hard and we hope everyone reading this will keep Lulu & Bogart and the rest of Klaus's family in their prayers.

Cosmo Dog Park in Gilbert, Arizona

Mommy & Daddy took us to visit their friends from Tucson on Friday before they took us to Cosmo Dog Park. This is C2, Mommy(C1) & M2 with H1 & me,
Baby Rocket Dog !!

Here I, Baby Rocket Dog, am coming out of the water with a ball!!

Here is Mommy and Hootie:

I hope you all enjoyed the trip to the dog water park with us. Our friends in Australia, Noah and the Airegals, have a little water park right in their yard so they know they are water dogs and are not afraid to get their toes wet. Mommy said I should be a water dog too, so this is really my first try at getting my feet wet. I would only go so far out though, because there is a ledge in the water where it drops off and I really do not know yet if I can swim!! Maybe I'll be more adventurous next time. Bye for now & have a great day! Smooches & Airehugs, BabyRD
