Pet Walk 2010 Tempe Town Lake

Last Sunday was the annual PetSmart Pet Walk for PetSmart Charities.
We got to the Pet Walk an hour before things started hopping!
This is Dad, Hootie & me at the entrance.
Here is Colin, from our Dales & Friends Group,
with his and Donna's Dales, Lucy & Charlie.
More Airedales from our Dales & Friends Meetup group.

Here we are checking out one of the watering stations.

And another buddy from Dales & Friends. By the way, over half of the dogs from our group were adopted from the SouthWest Airedale Terrier Rescue (SWATR).

This is Donna with Charlie, manning the booth for SWATR.

Mommy with us in front of the SWATR stand.

What do you suppose Mommy is doing here??

This is the Bowzer Beer stand. Good stuff!

Here is Hootie saying hi to a 10 year old Welshie names Lala. She growled at him. hehe.

Ooooo this is the start of the 1 mile walk. That's what we did.

Well what do ya know?
There was a WFT at the start of the race who gave Hootie a good luck smooch!

The line of people & pooches seemed to stretch forever.

Another view of the hooman and poochie 1 mile walk.

Yes, Hootie had to leave plenty of pee-mail.

It was such a beautiful day for a walk.

See Dad & me? The line split in two so we took the low road
and Mommy & Hoots took the high road.

Here are some of the Dales & Friends stragglers!
We were on our way back when they were just starting.

More pics of the Dales & Friends.

We had to check out the water's edge.
Kinda murky, but it's fed by a canal, so what did ya expect?!

The guy leaning over is Eddie and he really likes Hootie.
So many Dales. Who is who??

The little Welshie on the left is Maxwell.
He's the same age as Hootie, but he weighs about 10# less.
Hootie is such a substantial guy!!
Here's a better pic so you can see the difference in their size.

This guy is an Irish Terrier that we just met on Sunday.
Is he the McGillinator?
Oops, no he doesn't smell like McGillicutty!

Lookie, I love to do high 5 for treats.
Hey, you're supposed to give me 5 too lady!! Well, as long as you give me a treat you can slide on the high 5.

This big Dane was so friendly. I'll post a collage of all the different breeds of pooches on a future post.

Here's Mom and the Hootster.

Did you notice our folks have on matching shirts? CORNY!! At least it was easier to not get them lost. hehe.

Well, that's it for now. We had a lovely time at the PetWalk again this year and hope to attend next year. "God willing and the canal don't rise." Sure hope you all have a great weekend!

We'll miss you Poppy. Rest in Peace.

We have just learned that Poppy of
Penny, Poppy & Patches fame ( Airedale Heaven) crossed over the Rainbow Bridge early Sunday morning. Poppy's Daddy, Stan, passed away a week ago, so Lana needs all our love and prayers at this time of great sorrow. Dear Penny & Patches we have you in our thoughts. We know Poppy was your pack leader, so you now need to take over to help your mommy out. Please give her big kisses from us.

WestWho? ---- Oh Congrats Sadie!!

Well we were very pleased to see Sadie win Westminster. She is terrier through and through. Sadie understands the words "hot dog" and "cookie" in 5 different languages! And did you see her jump up on her handler after the win?? Hootie can do that! And, did you hear that guy (around #20) say, "Westminster is the most important show in the United States." ?? He apparently never heard of MangoMinster. Dumb guy. Well congratulations to Miss Sadie. You sure are a pretty girl!

Pas grand encore?

Here Are Our Dog Pile Pictures

It looks like Biggie Z is posting the entries in his Dog Pile Competition now. We sent these two pics in to be in the contest. We are pretty sure that Mommy had more fun with this than we did. Hootie couldn't take the weight on his poor little body so he went into a coma when she covered him with toys and bones. (He's okay now.) I, being the much stronger of the two of us, had no problem with all the stuff piled on. I rather enjoyed it!
Rock on friends!!

An Apology From The Mommy Human

I apologize to anyone who read that last post up until a few minutes ago (315pm AZ time) today. All my misspellings and strange sentences (??) have hopefully been corrected now. It was proof positive that Ambien does not mix with blogging any better than with driving. (Am I right Tiger?)

Anywhooooo, so sorry. XXxx-Cassie

PS-And yes, this is a shameless plug. If you get a chance, could you go over to Mango Minster and vote for Hootie or Baby Rocket Dog before tomorrow afternoon?? One vote per computer. The ballot is on the left sidebar here: Mango Minster.

Dog Versus The Machine

A Large Package has arrived, so we're just waiting on mommy to open it for us.

Put my right paw in. Then put my left paw in. Then bark the magic words!!

We were so impressed with the photos and with what we read on Miss Sunshade's blog about the Yuppy Puppy Food and Treat Machine that we talked Mommy into getting one for us. Well, the box arrived today. In it was the Machine and 4 different packs of training treats too. We were so excited when the box arrived and urged Mommy to let us open it. Well it turns out that Baby Rocket Dog (the smart one) isn't all she's cracked up to be. She didn't have any problem eating the treats I popped out of the machine, but other than eating my hard earned gain, she just laid down next to the machine waiting for me to get it to produce some treats. I figured it out after about15 minutes, but I'm still not tournament ready. I have figured how to press the bone lever enough to get a few goodies, Baby didn't even try to get it to work. Now, my secretary/mom took a sleeping pill so we're hoping this makes sense. Better get to bed.Everything is looking a bit weird.

Love all my big & little buddies!

Welshie hugs, Hootie
I hope you enjoy the video. There was so much trial and error it was exciting when I found the perfect combination to get the machine to work!
